How about making Lying to the Public an offense, and the penalty two years service in the armed services on the Front Lines as a Private? Most of the Bigshots in the government would then be very careful about deciding about going to war, and it wouldn't be their children they needed to worry about.

Don't you know, Geoff? Only dumb poor kids join the service. If the sons and daughters of decent people like Congressmen had to serve with the dumb kids, they'd think better of starting wars.
