Well stated, Buddy.....

The terms liberal and conservative have been stolen by interest groups and given the meaning they chose, be it positive toward their definition or negative. Liberals are afraid to be liberals now...they call themselves progressives. Conservatives used to stand for all the things you note, and when someone used to say they were a conservative, you knew that they not only claimed to stand for smaller government, less intrusive government programs, balanced budgets, caution in foreign adventures.....they did stand for it.

I miss Barry Goldwater more each day.

For Pete sakes, if you read the entire post, I said I didn't care to waste time getting into detailed definitions... but to give you a quick one line definition, a liberal is anyone to the left of me...

I agree with the libertarian form of govt. They just don't seem to win elections though, well, Lieberman, but we all know he's a republican. Did he run as independent? I forget.
