The only governor from the South that I can think of immediately is Mark Warner-----however, he has said he is not interested. Always possible he will change his mind.

The Northern Virginia vote is both critical and fickle in carrying Virginia. They cross party lines regularly. That was seen in the Allen and Webb Senate race as the political power brokers went with former Republican Webb rather than former Governor Allen--- in Fairfax County, Arlington County and Alexandria City and the more urban regions of Loudoun County.

If one assumes that a candidate should come from a source other that the U.S. Senate then possibilites become somewhat limited.

So who are the guru's of politics thinking would be a good combination for Obama?
