Message 23041562 Even if you have questions about thier 'Biofuel' or typical Pinksheet misgivings about USSE itself, the power plant company shares for free is not a bad deal - gas-turbine generators can basically run on 'green pea soup' . The power grid needs in the Southeast won't be going down with New Orleans on the mend and general national growth projections are not slowing down either. Pratt & Whitney pratt-whitney.com is definitely heavily involved in this effort, as it is their stationary version of 25MW gas-turbine generators that will be used to construct the power plant(s). It would appear that considerable green energy credits will be produced from these soy and other grain-based fuel usage efforts in addition to mucho Joules of electrical energy that go for $65+/MWhour Base Load and a lot more if Peaking. The rather interesting part of this methodology is that they can start with Simple Cycle plants (..fuel in - electricity out..) and then upgrade them quite readily to Combined Cycle plants where the gas-turbine exhaust is directed to waste heat (fin tube type) recovery boilers producing steam to drive additional steam-turbines generating additional electricity. That raises the overall plant efficiency to about 45%+/-. A modern, fully optimized, coal-fired powerhouse usually runs around 32%+/- efficiency on the basis of fuel BTUs in to marketable megawatts out. USSE's process is Patent Pending so not all the details are readily available, but the Demo videos available were very intriguing. Their "..tubes.." which do the soybean conversion process produce a clear, clean flammable gas, two grades of 'Biofuel' that can be used in either gasoline or diesel-type engines and a valuable fertilizer byproduct. The bio on Kelmer Smith, ME, PE, who is now the president of the new Sustainable Power Corp. is pretty impressive. au.sys-con.com John :-) .
