I can't say what the cost is, but I know that the IRS and other indirect costs, aren't part of Medicare's budget, and aren't included in the calculations. All the indirect costs aren't not insignificant. Probably the most significant is the overhead of the carriers and intermediaries who process the claims.

As for "prove it", your just back to your usual game. Your figures are to be taken uncritically, but anyone who disagrees has to prove all their assertions.

I can't prove your wrong, but I have shown that you can't prove your correct. Your the one advocating major change. You prove your case. If neither of us can get complete solid figures for indirect costs, it doesn't show your wrong, but it does support my argument that you haven't demonstrated that Medicare is cheaper, or that a new single payer government system would be more efficient, then private insurance.
