Hey Bloomfield, the flow diagram posted by MPV does not necessarily reflect all options available to MPV, but rather only one scenario I would suggest. And accordingly it is very misleading.

This position of yours (and one or two others) is the very reason I (and other faculty members) would like to review an actual copy of the JV agreement. If you're taking a flow diagram as gospel, you are being misled.

My intent here is not to argue with you, but rather to clarify the approach often used by management in demonstrating possible alternative courses of action for a project. And that's the reason MPV management might well benefit from qualified external input in their dealings with DB.

Mountain Province can indeed elect to pay their own share of the capital costs. It's a simple matter to set up a spreadsheet to determine the relationship between the share price and IRR required to make it a worthwhile approach.
