That blog is from a liberal but far from radical site.

If people there are starting to think about Jewish American dual loyalty the Israel lobby may be in a more precarious position than many have assumed.

<<I don't know to what degree they were engaging in wishful thinking, and to what degree they were self-consciously putting Israel's interests before America's. To some degree it didn't matter to me because I thought that, in reality, they were putting neither country's interests first>. i will aproach this regards, Lieberman, Koch and friedman, regards the others named i don't know enough.
1) Joe Lieberman; Joe Lieberman has been the the most powerful elected member of Congress in protecting and enhancing the U.S. no balance policy regards Israel and Palestine. The official policy the dates back to the early 50s and that being everthing for Israel and nothing for Palestine.
It is estimated Israel has received overtime 150 billions dollars of monetary aid which they never were required to pay back.Cripes!
When Howard Dean suggested in 2004 that he would like to see a balanced policy of 50/50 of U.S. regards Israel and Palestine, Joe Lieberman went ballistic, he went into rant status.
He virtually stated it would be treasonous to change over 50 years of official U.S. policy of this 100% commitment to Israel.
Treason?? Treason to the U.S., Joe??? No, in Joe's mind it would be treason AGAINST Israel.
Joe Liebermen is a hard core rightwing in terms of Israel.
He exists to make sure the U.S. remains Israel's Big Fat Sugar Daddy.
Under the old saying, a person can not serve two masters, i feel Joe Lieberman us Israel first america second.
i believe a study of his wheeling and dealings in government will demonstrate Lieberman is distinct Israel First Likudnic type.
In short, i feel one need make no mistake, Lieberman is in fact a distinctly rightwing zionist democrat just as Haim Saban, is a far rightwing zionist moneybags Democrat.
His support for Bush was predicated on to KEEP whoever happens to be the POTUS on Isreal's side, so suppport feircely the Bush insanity to invade Iraq.

2) Tom Friedman a different matter, and i have thought a good deal about Friedman.Seeking compassion, really.
Tom Friedman was of the type of Haaretz level liberal regards Israel and Palestine.
And he was against the invasion of Iraq until it was voted for, with a resounding yes by Congress, which included the shameful, disgracful mad rush rally ho of democratic Senators to support Bush43..
I have called that the day that registered should have all realized the Democratic Party had become a Bad Joke--no, not a bad joke, but instead a Sick Joke.
Tom Friedman then dips into his seemingly bottomless well of optmism nd comes out saying 'better to think positive tahn be negative' and went to 'well the war it is now a reality so let's do are best to make let's make it work'.
This reveals Friedman to be a man lacking passion, lacking conviction, and revealed , imo, that he is but a people pleaser columnist of meager ability.
Also, it was easy for Friedman to change suits as he is a devout believer and promulgator of te myth that globaliztion will save the world, this is what i call airhead non-religious messiahism, what a i call secular materialism is world salvation. ("It Ain't", the ornery Max spats:)
i read his arguments and realized Tom Friedman is basically a mental light weight with a high gullibility qoutient , he is one of those persons that P.T.Barnum said was born every minute.
i can not bring myself to dislike Tom Friedman, but a grave disappointment he is to me, that is no question.
But i do not believe Friedman made his decision based not on Israel, but just in the way so many americans that reluctantly said 'will the damage is done, the invasion a reality so let's hope for the best.'

3) The Mayor Ed Koch : i liked Koch as the mayor of NYC, not on any analysis of the politics of NYC, but just that he was a pleasant person, had humour, he was just likable.
So when Koch went out of his way to endorse Bush in 2004 campaign i was pissed.
Why did he do it? i think he had swallowed the 9/11 bait hook/line/sinker.
he, like many others, got debrained by 9/11.
So in this sense, Ed Koch was just one of many miliions of schmoes that went for The War on Terrorism.
i don't think in was an Israel thing, i think it was that Koch joined the herd that jumped on the great deceit post 9/11, he became a believer in the Bush "be afraid, very afraid" routine.Another sucker.
