You are IGNORING the fact that incredible hardships faced this nation during Bush's terms 1. Inherited a slowing economy 2. 9/11/01 attack 3. Katrina plus several other hurricanes that received less attention but cost plenty. 4. Two wars which are costing much more then originally estimated. 5. Inherited vastly underequipped troops from an anti military administration. 6. Inherited vastly under manned intelligence services which had to be rebuilt. In times like these it was not FEASIBLE to shut down the government over bullshit spending. Now, as to Medicare D. My wife is a nurse and although the media doesnt give Bush credit, truth is its been a GODSEND to many seniors who couldnt afford the drugs necessary to keep them alive. She sees it on a daily basis. Maybe you think its a waste but when its YOUR mother or father you might see things differently. jdn
