I'm not saying its all rosy. We are at war, but take any time when we were at war (not counting conflicts like Grenada, Panama, and bombing the Serbs to be "at war") and casualties have been higher.

Or, Take the average from 1866 to 2002.

That average is over 12 deaths per day compared to the 1.7 per day since 9/11.

Add up the casualties numbers here
