You neocons have been lowering the bar on the definition of "winning" ever since the invasion. Why don't we just say we've "won", declare victory and get the hell out? That's the end result you're leading to in any case.

The republicans can define victory how ever they want to. Knock yourself out.

And if you have to redefine victory later at a lower level then people will notice that the original defined victory was not achieved.

People are not all together stupid as you might make them out to be. Iraq is in crisis. Redefining terms in not going to change that. And Bush got us in there in the first place. That will be his legacy.

If winning means killing lots of bad guys and making sure that neither the Iranians nor Al Qaeda has a proxy state on Iraqi soil.

So that's what "winning" is!

Re: ... making sure that neither the Iranians nor Al Qaeda has a proxy state on Iraqi soil.

We had that when Saddam was in power.

Re: winning means killing lots of bad guys..

According to the intelligence assessments, the Iraq War is motivating lots of people around the globe to become "bad guys". Pretty clever Bush is ... make more "bad guys" so we can kill them. Anyone we can kill but the US likes a "challenge". We train the "bad guys" that join the Iraqi police and military so they are better "bad guys". Then they can export their new learned skills to other places like Afghanistan.

I'm glad to finally see an acknowledgment that "winning" has nothing to do with the people of Iraq. Just pawns in some Machiavellian game. A lot of dead ones now, but their deaths were worth it for the sake of The Game.
