I've got mixed thoughts on term limits. It lets us off the hook for our individual responsibilities in trying to keep our representatives in line.

On a local level, we had what I called "Mussolinis in a tea cup" that ran the place like they owned it. Term limits might have helped in that case, since the prevailing political plan was to "let them die out". Which points out a general apathy that applies across the board in our political outlooks.

It's clear we need more information on congressional funding and expenditures, the who and why of those that have sway over our "public servants". We have the technical capabilities to open up the place for a regular inspection, but it would take a small revolution to overcome our elected officials resistance to total blue sky government.
