Accidently on FOX live!...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugTkaWRdpok
Oops! Fox News accidentally posted a Live News Flash of "Live Desk" host Martha McCallum prepping for broadcast instead of, well, a Live News Flash. The video, quickly removed from the Fox News website but preserved for posterity on YouTube (at least until the cease-and-desist letter), features McCallum getting miked up and fielding admiring comments from a staffer about the relative merits of her haircut, which the staffer seemed to think was getting a little long (Staffer: "Your hair's getting long again." Martha: "Do you think I should cut it again?" Staffer: "I love the bob. I think you had the best bob ever." Martha: "I can always go back to the bob..." Staffer: "I just felt it was the most effective bob"). A second unidentified staffer also encouraged McCallum to return to the bob, as she had "started a trend," though McCallum seemed to prefer longish for the holiday season. For the record, we think McCallum's hair seems both modern and effective right now, though we'd guess she'll go back to the bob since she seems fairly willing to take suggestions from the network.

Following the discussion of her hair, McCallum did a quick read through of her headlines, at one point interjecting a sarcastic quip into the copy: "...exit strategy in Iraq, suggesting the U.S. should set a timetable. (laughs) Oh what a good idea!" See the video here; evaluate the effectiveness of the bob here. We're coming down on the side of keeping it long through the holidays, frankly; she can always go back to the bob.
