Right. Democracy. And the right to self determination. That is the rhetoric about what we were in Iraq to give them. If what we did matched the rhetoric maybe we wouldn't have the situation we now have there. It shouldn't have been too hard to figure out that a very religious country and culture would want to elect religious leaders. But our leaders were more intent on converting them to our religion, the religion of secular capitalism, than giving them real freedom and self determination. And alas they failed.
