JDN, I have no more faith in them than you do and don't expect much to come from self regulation. Even if you manage to get the term limits in, we still need to have easier access to information on the sources of their funds.

It's been my personal experience (at least on the local level) that there is an inverse relationship with the amount of "joy" in holding public office and what the public knows about their financial dealings.
