The New York Times and other news outlets have been figuring out if it’s time to break with the administration’s use of euphemisms like “sectarian conflict.” How long can you have an ever-descending descent without actually reaching the civil war? People keep expecting the adminstration to keep us abreast of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their status. If there is nothing else we have learned these past three years, the Bush administration is a lagging indicator when it comes to this measure. Hence Iraq was in civil war six months ago at least. Its best to ignore the administration on this issue.
