Tenchusatsu, Plus I'm still waiting for the "proof" that Intel discontinued their deals with Dell BEFORE Dell went with AMD.

It will be settled Out of Court. Intel will admit nothing, just as in Japan.

I'll post this under "information", not proof or disproof or anything. I think this is Intel's attempt to prevent diversion of parts to grey market. i.e. Dell buys excess processors at its steep discount, then sells some at retail outside of any system. Whether that upset Dell much, is unlikely. I think Dell just wanted to have more merchandise on the shelf to capture customers who prefer AMD.

More emerges on Intel flat pricing

theinquirer.net

He went on to say that what the channel pays a hair under $300 for, the mid-tier players pay under $250, and Dell, HP and IBM types pay that same hair under $200. The numbers work out that the big guys pay around 60 per cent as much as the little guys for mainstream CPUs, but that may move a lot depending on the chips.

Tenchusatsu,

I'm still waiting to see said "smoking gun."

I think you would just look the other way, and refuse to "see" it.

That way, you could safely continue to be in denial, keep waiting a "smoking gun".
