Exactly. 15 million Mexicans here and you can't find 50 to pick pears? What do you have to do? Let 30 million in to find 1000 pear pickers?

All I'm saying is Ralph Broetje couldn't find enouguh laborers, legal or illegal, to pick his apples.

He did not have the labor, whether legal or illegal, which presents two different situations.

1) Not enough 'merican workers willing to work in the Orchards. DMAs solution is pay more or go out of business. How's he feel about paying $3.00/lb for his Braeburns?

2) Illegals not willing to risk coming to work the harvest.

All I know is a hard working farmer lost 15 million pounds of fruit this fall.
