Was there really a conviction in a Japanese court? I'd thought there was some sort of no-contest plea deal before an administrative body?

Close enough for someone looking for a smoking gun. But, for someone trying very hard to look the other way...

He made that up, too. There were no charges brought up, and no trial. And certainly no plea or conviction on any charges. There was a consent agreement.
