We went into Iraq for what has been revealed as very dubious reasons and we attacked first.

WW II was prosecuted under much clearer moral authority ie. the Japanese and Germans attacked first.

To level every Iraqi city - as you suggest - would make us as evil as the Nazis ever were.

BTW it was the hard right nuts that made the Nazis so bad.
