gg cox; OT - "The world's fastest Indian" an underdog heroic movie, with loads of humour and family fare. Watched it again yesterday, reminds me of Roy Hobbs in The Natural, played by Redford.Great uplifting movies.

lololol rotflmao

"yet lapping up the benefits from everything from, the protection of North America by US military, the great leaps in science for the benefit of all, from the US space program"

First of all my friend, we Canadians don't need you defending us because no one is attacking us nor do they want to (and no one has attacked America either except themselves) because we are good people, have no enemies, and generally mind our own business. So, most of us Canadians would answer this comment by suggesting that the Pentagon take one of their stupid, waste of money Space Shuttles, shove it up their collective asses and light the fuse. We do NOT need nor do we WANT Us defending us as friendship with the USA is literally the kiss of death. You send YOUR soldiers home in a flag draped coffin, not ours!

"Look at "the cradle of civilization" and ask yourself "what have they done lately"

"Why are people the world over trying to get in?? and those in, are free to leave."

They are now but as soon as Bush builds that Berlin Wall on the borders of Canada and Mexico and also prevents people from flying out (no fly lists) they will be trapped just like the East Germans were; so the smart people have left already for more civilized countries.

Yep gg, I'm saying it a little differently but a rose is a rose is a rose.. (see my post to luds) If the US curled up in an armadillo ball and shut out the world... would the world get better ? Many seem to think so... but I doubt it..
OTOH dissent is necessary...
Strikes across the frontier and strikes for higher wage
Planet lurches to the right as ideologies engage
Suddenly it's repression, moratorium on rights
What did they think the politics of panic would invite?
Person in the street shrugs -- "Security comes first"
But the trouble with normal is it always gets worse
Bruce Cockburn.. (without his Rocket Launcher :O)

Seems we agree much more when we leave healthcare out of the picture :o)
Thanks
