Your glasses are on your nose :)

I have a 'thing' about glasses. I have reading glasses and a favorite pair. They don't make the frame anymore and that frame fits, is comfortable and I love them. I have dropped them so many times that there are vertical scratches in the middle of the lenses in the center.... I have new slightly altered prescriptions however the framers that be refuse to try to put new lenses into my old glasses. There story is that 'they may break'.
So, they don't get very many new prescriptions from me and I keep my favorite frames and wear the old prescription most of the time. It's well over ten years old ;)

One of the few times I panic is if I can't find those glasses out of the home. I lose them in the home because they are almost translucent and blend in with everything. One time I was in a store shopping and when I came out of the store to be picked up by husband he saw me turn around and retrace my steps. I had misplaced my glasses and I retraced all my steps in the store, inquired if anyone had turned them in and walked back outside quite unhappy.

I climbed into the car and told husband what had happened. My favorite frames were gone; I had looked everywhere; I had asked management about turn-ins... yada yada yada... and he looked at me as he prepared to drive off and asked, "are you referring to the glasses you have sitting on top of your head?"

Ok... so I tuck them up there amidst all my grey hair... my husband was the hero of the day !! Another fran story to tell the family... sigh... laugh... there are so many of them... I may not tell jokes well, but I do keep them laughing !! :)
