probably the small neighborhood shops/shopping complexes.... there is no organized big retailer in India as far as I know.... I believe Reliance and Birla (2 major industrial houses) are also venturing into this business.

EDIT : In the past, if u wanted to buy 10 items, u drove to 10 shops and bought your stuff... these days u go park in 1 place, go to 10 shops in the 1 shopping complex, put the stuff in your car and go home. With the likes of WalMart coming in, you park in 1 place, go to 1 store get all 10 items, 1 checkout, go home...
