If history is any indication they will spend whatever it takes to try and hit that guidance. Each $100M is "only" 7c/share - Sirius shareholders won't even notice a "small" miss of 14c/share.

Unless XM could sell SIRI's satellite infrastructure to someone (to whom I haven't any idea) I can't see why XM would be willing to buy or merge with Sirius. At all. But Jacoby's remarks sure sound like negotiating, as you say.
