"Just one of many differences between WWII and today."

Yeah, here's some more.

In WWII, taxes were RAISED to pay for the war. On the rich, taxes were raised to 91%!

In WWII, gasoline, automobiles, tires and many other items were rationed at home so production could be diverted to the war effort.

In WWII, the government even sponsored metal drives where everyone collected copper and aluminum for the war effort.

Of course, in WWII we had a REAL leader that brought the country TOGETHER in a common purpose - perhaps the biggest difference of all.

There is no comparison between Iraq and WWII. The rightwing needs to stop using that dliberately misleading comparison. Ditto any comparison between Bush and FDR. Those two couldn't have been more different.

Clifford, > In fact during WWII people bought war bonds and gave even more.

In WWII, the opposition party didn't obstruct and politicize the war to the extent that war is being politicized today.

Just one of many differences between WWII and today.

On the contrary, there were a number of Republicans who were obstructionists and led the isolationist movement back then.
