(I also thought it was an interesting observation to the effect that the G.O.P. --- originally a Party of the North --- has morphed into an all-Southern base Party... while the originally all-Southern Party, the Democrat Party, is now Northern, Eastern, Western... but not Southern.)

"In New Hampshire, before the election, the State House of Representatives had had a majority of Democrats only once in 132 years, in 1922; the Senate had been Democratic only twice, in 1912 and 1998. Registered Republicans still outnumber Democrats, but increasing numbers of voters are independent, and the election results were shaped not just by the war and the national party’s conservative bent, experts and Republicans said."

Talk about a long winning streak!

Rock-ribbed Republicans!
