Just 'name recognition' at this stage?

(I did hear an interesting argument about Giuliani though over the weekend. Some folks were saying: I doubt there are many Republicans who *aren't* fully aware of his socially 'liberal' views... so, if they still support him, it's with open eyes, and because they are not 'one issue Republicans' --- despite what the media likes to say about the G.O.P.)

And possibly --- just possibly --- they may be considering a (hate to use the term, LOL)... a 'Kerry-style' political accomodation. In other words: nominate someone who is PERCEIVED as being 'electable' in a general election.

Same would go for McCain to, I guess. Perceived as being able to pull masses of Independents to his side in the general.
