I will get back with the accurate statistics when I have a chance....in order to merely maintain a stable population (w/o immigration) birth rates need to be at 2.1 per couple....Italy is about half that...meanwhile immigration is heavy and birth rates of the immigrants are well above the 2.1 level.

The CIA fact book uses the term "ever increasing" muslim population for Italy.

If it's any thing like our hispanic population estimations....it's unknown and poorly guessed on the low side.
