I don't know what goes on in the kitchen - but the burgers are very good, tasty, definitely not pre-formed "rounds." They have a variety of choices from my personal favorite - guacamole baconburger, no cheese for me, though - to the five alarm mouth burner, and the fries are good. Where they excel is drinks - they make great mai tais, my fave and the only good ones in OR. And desserts - not that I have room, but you can get them to go - are good - had a bite of their mudslide once, and it was great. About two years ago, my boyfriend and I went to a Red Robin - the burgers were warm to cold, the service abysmal, and they only gave us three fries. So I wrote and complained, which I'd been going to RR since 1980 something, and never had that happen. And we got vouchers for two free meals - anything on the menu except drinks. The service in Portland last night was fab, and our meal was wonderful. I almost ate the whole burger.
