It's a funny human thing to get excited about ingesting plant neurotoxin

I read the other day that Aspirin is a synthetic version of a ingredient in Willow bark, as Digitalis is of the plant, Foxglove.

I have also read that there is a shortage of morphine. You think our State Dept would have connected that up with the oversupply of poppy juice in Afghanistan and let the tribal leaders there sell it to the West legally. But "noooooooo"

No, the consequences would impinge on the person offering the poppy juice to me. I wouldn't be responsible for what I might do to him. There are severe penalties for that too.
