Actually, I have to disagree strenuously with your post and I have hardcore evidence that proves my point.

The point of no return I mentioned in my last post, was defined as the point at which our earth can no longer sustain humans and we begin to die off until we become extinct. I know for a fact that this can happen, because it happened to the dinosaurs and there is evidence of other mass extinction events.

We know that if the earth warms up substantially, it may very well lead to the extinction of mankind. Eventually, the earth may recover and return to the narrow band of warming and cooling within which human life can be sustained, but by then we'll be gone.

So the point of no return is defined as when the earth warms or cools to point at which human extinction is inevitable. Human pollution can drive the earth to that point if we are not careful, through dramatic CO2 increases.

Stick with what you learned in 6th grade... everything since is bs.

re: (And perhaps conserve more and stop buying SUVs just to go to the mall?)

That and a few more things and we have it licked. You are becoming a tree hugger!

There is no "point of no return." The earth's climate continually changes. I learned this in elementary school, and it still applies. Obviously 6 billion people on this earth are going to have an impact on the environment, but what can we do other than to keep adapting to the changing climate? (And perhaps conserve more and stop buying SUVs just to go to the mall?)

You must have missed the part in elementary school where the earth's climate changes so significantly that the current species are wiped out and new species take over.
