Gingrich Challenges Free Speech and Separation Of CHurch And State unionleader.com

This is what we mean by radical rightwing ideologues attacking our Constitution. Back in the McCarthy era they used the word "communism" to mean anyone of a liberal nature is an enemy of the state. Now they are misusing the word "terrorism" in the same way. In fact at last check there is not a single terrorist cell operating in this country, yet ideologues like Bush, Cheney, Hannity and Gingrich are calling for a full-scle assault on our Constitution using fear-mongering to cow people into being willing to give up these key American civil liberties.

Might I remind you that Bush can now call anyone he wants a "terrorist" and imprison, torture or kill them without telling anyone. That is a dictatorship, not a democracy.

Limbaugh Calls for "Blowing Up" Middle East.

In case Limbaugh doesn't realize, Bush already tried that. It just creates more terrorists, unless you have the majority of the world and the UN behind you. THis myth that we can hunt down terrorists with our huge military machine is like someone trying to kill rats in a swamp with a bulldozer. The bulldozer just gets stuck in the mud and the rats get away. Kerry had it right as he decribed counter-terrorism in 2004. It is a deteremined police and intelligence challenge, not a literal "war".

LIMBAUGH: All right, well, let's just have them. Let's just have the civil wars and let the crumbs crumble and the cookie crumble where -- because I'm fed up with this. The Palestinian situation -- for 50 years we've had the Palestinian situation, and it's not going to be solved until the Limbaugh Doctrine is imposed or tried. And that is, this is a war, and until somebody loses it, it isn't going to stop. And now, you know, we've done everything we can to make Lebanon a democracy, and it's crumbling because Syria keeps killing the popular leaders there. Meanwhile, the Hezbos [Hezbollah] keep expanding their influence in Lebanon.

But what the hell! We're going to bring Syria and Iran in to fix Iraq, why not let them just fix the whole region? If we're heading to civil war -- I mean, everybody comes to us: "You got to fix this and you got to fix that." So we go and try to fix it, and our own people, Democrats and the left in our country do their best to sabotage our efforts, and then we get blamed for trying to clean up the messes that these people start. And then they come on our television show: "[Gibberish] George [gibberish] civil war [gibberish] we gotta do something. Palestinians it's a must, it's a must, we must [gibberish] right now [gibberish] war."

Fine, just blow the place up. Just let these natural forces take place over there instead of trying to stop them, instead of trying to use -- I just -- sometimes natural force is going to happen. You're going to have to let it take place. You can spend all the time you like with diplomacy, and you can spend all the time you want massaging these things with diplomatic -- you're just -- you're just delaying the inevitable.

Right, because I supposedly said that Vietnam was lost because of the draft.

Two world wars have given rise to a class of entitled americans, enamored with the infallibility of the US. Right wing conservatives, nationalists basically like you. You have lost your objectivity and consistently fall for the nostalgic notion that wars like vietnam and iraq can't be lost by a great nation like the US, for basic reasons such as indigenous determination.

re: You and JF crack me up, the way you think you have me all figured out. I might as well just sit back and let the two of you put words into my mouth all day.

You would be much better off.
