I found it particularly enlightening when McGuinty said in an interview that he had talked it over with the Prime minister and they had agreed that the presence of either one of them in Caledonia would send the wrong signal to both sides in the dispute. There are of course two sides in the dispute one is the natives the other the Federal Government. Then of course there are the people who live in Caledonia otherwise known as "The Hostages"....... McGuinty answered the question, what happens if you are taken hostage and no one cares.
