So, what is different now, compared to say a year or two ago?

I think I went into all this in a prior post. When Intel thought they could get away with superior/illegal marketing, that provided more profit than an intensive R&D approach. They got leapfrogged, and are now fighting back, and have regained the lead in core IPC, and maintain their lead in process.

But if you are saying that the increased R&D budget will quickly overpower AMD in product performance, well, you still need to support your argument.

Look at current benchmarks, for a start. The shift has been monumental in the past 6 months. Look at roadmaps. How will AMD compete with a 3.7GHz Wolfdale part in H207? With Nehalem in 2008?

could you outline your winning strategy for Intel?

Haven't I done that already?
