CJ, you too are basing doomsday scenarios on shaky assumptions, like the Gulf Stream shutting down. The Day After Tomorrow scenario.

I think it's just as likely that arid land all of a sudden becomes a rainforest over the course of 100 years. Why? Because I've decided that the Gulf Stream is going to speed up. If you need proof, I can always find it on Google ...

There's a slippery slope between sensible science and crazy alarmism. Funny how such alarmism was denied when I pointed out that George Soros is hypocritically investing in Big Oil ...
