Ashley, how could you?!! But maybe you think "F-ing black boy" isn't racist either. Here's another test of whether "F-ing black boy" is a racist comment. Imagine saying it to Tiger Woods, or Colin Powell, or Condoleezza Rice, or even Harry Belafonte. I could imagine Colin Powell might have called Harry that when Harry called him a house nigger - actually, no I can't. Powell just thought Harry was rude. < Powell last week called the comments "unfortunate" and said he is "proud to be serving" his nation and his president, the master. "I think it's unfortunate that Harry used that characterization," Powell told "Larry King Live" last Tuesday. "If Harry had wanted to attack my politics, that was fine. If he wanted to attack a particular position I hold, that was fine. But to use a slave reference, I think, is unfortunate and is a throwback to another time and another place that I wish Harry had thought twice about using." > But I am sure Kramer would not be so demure. blacknewsweekly.com As you can see, the expression is assuredly racist. Speaking of racist comment, I was called a dumb pakeha decades ago by a Maori girl. I was sitting on our deck in the sun, getting my melanin levels up, and as she walked by, she called out "Dumb pakeha!" I thought "Huh? Me? Dumb?" Pakeha is a denigrating term for white person so that was right. Pakeha means "Long white pig, suitable for cooking in a hangi - very yummy". In a way I was offended, as one is supposed to consider such comments racist, but she was, I decided, drawing my attention to my behaviour which was obviously dumb, and I have had a squamous cell carcinoma removed to prove it, among other benign skin lesions. Her brief comment was perhaps what saved me from excessive sun [more excessive]. A friend has been dead for a dozen years because of melanoma from his championship-level tanning in the 1960s. NZ is melanoma capital of the world. White people in bright sunshine is dumb. There's a great market in genetic engineering for melanin enrichment. Maybe for melanin reduction too. Michael Jackson apparently has a genetic method for melanin reduction. Intermarriage isn't necessarily convenient. Having found the preferred mate, one could simply take the zygote to the fert-works, tick the ASTM 5 box, throw in IQ 150, cut out the cystic fibrosis and other genetic problems, and hey presto, the perfect little baby. Who would then go on to do any damn thing it liked and wreck the perfect plan. Mqurice
