That's when you need wise leadership, to lead us AWAY from our worst instincts. Instead, we had a leader that co-opted and whipped up our worst instincts for the misguided invasion of Iraq.

I only wish that were true. Then every time I get onto a flight, the nail-clipper and bottled water that I have on my carry-on luggage wouldn't be confiscated.

Maybe that's also what the terrorists counted on, huh? We sure didn't disappoint here, either.
