schmoo plots though do give a very good idea of how one example behaves WRT voltage increases which can tell you an awful lot about potential for the whole design. Also you would expect someone to put a bestcase example in the public domain.

From the original Itanium 2 Madison schmoo I predicted we would never see a 1.7 GHz variant of it *ever* as the slope went very steep at that point and the voltage went into electromigration causing territory nevermind the power of it. You can also see from the US-IV+ plot that 1.8 GHz was always a given but anymore will be very tough despite what Sun management brag. Allied with stock voltage overclocking reports this gives you big educated clues.
