Saudi Arabia Will Protect Sunnis if the U.S. Leaves

By Nawaf Obaid

11/29/06 "Washington Post" -- -- In February 2003, a month before the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, the Saudi foreign minister, Prince Saud al-Faisal, warned President Bush that he would be "solving one problem and creating five more" if he removed Saddam Hussein by force. Had Bush heeded his advice, Iraq would not now be on the brink of full-blown civil war and disintegration.

-------

So, if the US leaves, Saudi Arabia will side with Iraqi Sunnis. And what will the Iranians do? Side with the Shias in Iraq! The Saudis may then get nukes from Pakistan to protect themselves from Iran.

Then there is the issue of Shias in Saudi, who live in the oil-rich regions but are currently second-class citizens. Iran will not like that! If they get the Saudi Shias on their side, then the entire Persian Gulf will be in the hands of the Persians!

Wheels within wheels within wheels... What a mess! All because the majority of our idiot citizens blindly followed a MORON who didn't even know that there *were* groups called Shias and Sunnis...
