coug your post inspired me to take a trip down memory lane..

these days i don't often participate in the political rancor on SI.
i used to spout off quite a bit, but ultimately it became an exercise in futility..

i too was against even the afghan war from the get-go .. those terrorist training camps were disbanded immediately after 9/11 .. they knew we'd be coming.. we just had to bomb something quick in retaliation and afghanistan was the most logical choice

i cried when those towers fell partially for the people whom were within them, but more so because of the adverse reaction which i just knew would inevitably come to pass

I was opposed to the war. My Congressman was one of the few who voted against it. He had been to Iraq on a number of occasions before Bush toppled Saddam. My Congressman said that if we took out Hussein the country would revert to civil war. It turns out he was right.

The weather is better here now. Finally!
