"* Rise in global average sea level and the increase in ocean water temperatures"

Back when I got my degree in Marine Science during the late 1970s, it was common knowledge that sea level had risen by 18cm since 1900, primarily due to thermal expansion.

In Oceanography, isotherm maps are very common, have been for centuries. So rising temperatures has been obvious for a while.
