Nokia's Ojanperae Comments on Royalty Dispute With Qualcomm
2006-11-29 04:31 (New York)

By Juho Erkheikki
Nov. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The following are comments by Tero
Ojanperae, chief technology officer at Nokia Oyj, the world's
biggest mobile-phone company.
He spoke today at the Espoo, Finland-based company's
meeting with analysts and investors in Amsterdam.
Nokia's current agreement with Qualcomm Inc., the world's
second largest maker of mobile-phone chips, to license the San
Diego-based company's technology expires on April 9. Qualcomm
said on Nov. 2 said the lack of an agreement with Nokia would
reduce profit this year by 4 cents to 6 cents a share.

``It continues to be in both parties interest to reach an
agreement. Injunctions are a theoretical option.''
