If you look at the graph, the Medieval Warm period and the Little Ice Age differed by 1.44F. The impact was the difference between England being a fine wine producer and one where wheat had trouble growing. Grapes still don't grow well in England. "See the point I'm making?" No. "You can take any data point and argue whatever the hell you want." Not in this case. Temperatures averaged out across a year tend to be pretty stable from year to year. "The 2005 hurricane season was supposed to be proof of global warming, but what about the mild 2006 season?" Any trained climatologists who made that claim? No? Ever wonder why? "An aberration? How about the unusually cold night in Southern California last night?" Temperatures vary a lot, day to day. Yesterday, we were in the 80's. Today, in the 30's. However, yearly averages don't vary all that much. You are taking one metric, yearly average temperature and comparing it to another, max. or min. temperature. They measure totally different domains. It is like comparing Tcase to Tjunct and concluding that since Tcase never gets about 75C, then electromigration is impossible.
