Frankly, as a libertarian much like Stossel, I do see him in fact proving that left wingers are in fact suspect, but also see him every bit as forthrightly proving that right wingers are in fact suspect. One thing, I think I know where your bias lies. Hell, he's only allowed on the air at ABC because he does give the right a hard time too. A very hard time indeed.

I think I understand your point about Stossels otherwise surely accurately reported statistics (damned statistics and all). But I'm not sure. If fewer Democrats give period, as reported by Stossel, would even the notion that fewer Democrats do religious giving be a worthy excuse for the overall truth? I think not. Stossel suggested a possible reason for this. Namely that if you believe government should take care of things, you are less likely to give yourself. Then too, Republicans believe strongly in private charity vs government help, and perhaps since they get the bad rep. as greedy for not wanting government doing the giving, they try harder to give where their private charity mouths are.
