Rink - I think you can; he just meant if you go with the 32bit version of Vista, you can't "enable" its 64-bit capability later.

If you buy the retail version of Vista, you get both and can choose which one to install. At least that's what MS been saying for the last few years.
I can imagine that they don't want to support upgrading a 32 bit XP to a 64 bit Vista, because the 32 bit drivers can't survive th upgrade.
