I have looked at Thorium Power once or twice. It has its own thread here on SI -- Subject 56072

The entire Thorium issue strikes me as a giant sleeper.

Because of its inability to be a precursor to nuclear weapons, it would be an obvious alternative to Uranium power production.

If mankind were ever to get serious about peaceful co-existence and deal with their energy production problem seriously, Thorium would be an obvious winner.
