Bidens plan or WW1 redux in middle east are fast becoming the choices.

George W Bush created this mess, but now we have to go hat in hand to get help to prevent another WWI (as you call it).

We first have to admit we made a mistake. We have to come up with a viable plan to partition Iraq and ensure oil revenues are equitably distributed. We then have to convince allies that this is no longer a US only problem. The whole world will suffer.

Just as he did during the first Gulf War, Baker enlisted help from allies and they virtually paid for the first Gulf war.

The stakes are much higher now and the problem is far more complex. I do not think the new mission is impossible. Even if he wanted to, George W. Bush has no credibility and can no longer provide the leadership. We need all new leadership.
