The trade weighted dollar index shows the dollar hasn't given up much ground where it counts the most, against our trading partners. frbatlanta.org

'We are far too accustomed to thinking of the US as the main element of the global economy. This is the challenge -- to change our way of seeing the world and out place in it. Failure to make this change explains much of what is going wrong in the US, including our misguided invasion of Iraq.' It shows up in spades both by the arrogance of the Bush administration as well as the decline in the dollar this decade. I think what you speak of is as dead on to what is going on in the world and the problems we fact as much as anyone out there. I vote for you to be our next president<g>
