What does XBox have, besides Halo and the "shovelware" ports?

I stopped playing consoles after Mario 64, so you are right about not playing them much any more...

Gears of War is a tactical third-person shooter video game developed by Epic Games using the Unreal Engine 3 technology. It is a killer app, as the only system that plays it is Xbox 360. The game centers around protagonist Marcus Fenix, and the conflict between the human inhabitants of planet Sera fighting a subterranean enemy known as the Locust Horde. The game is available in both standard and limited editions.

Gears of War was released for the Xbox 360 on November 7, 2006 in select stores in the United States and was broadly released in major U.S. retailers on November 12, 2006 (this day was dubbed "Emergence Day" by Epic Games). It was also released on November 17, 2006 in Europe outside of Germany, where Microsoft did not publish the game after it was denied a rating.[1] According to Microsoft Game Studios VP Shane Kim, the preorder sales were expected to reach $100M USD, second only to Halo 2 in videogame history. The game has been stated by the Vice-President of Epic Games, Mark Rein, to have cost an estimated $10 million to make.[2]
