fpg - Handheld consoles would seem like a great opportunity for Fusion, if the power consumption is low enough.

FPG, > What are the "dynamics of the game console market" that make these factors (especially E) no more attractive than alternatives, and what exactly are the alternatives?

I just said it. High-volume, low profit margin. Look at the attempts:

- K6-2
- Duron
- Sempron
- PIC
- Flash
- Alchemy

And AMD's ability to supply is still in question. Even now, AMD can only supply their new buddy Dell if they screw over the Tier3 customers.

In other words, commoditization is AMD's biggest enemy. But don't take my word for it. Find out what AMD supporters said after Intel took the XBox1 design win right out from under AMD's nose. "Oh, XBox is low-margin anyway. AMD doesn't need it."
