"In addition to the to the nearly 3K who have died, there are over 20K American soldiers who have been injured."

Many very severely and permanently. Hence my "mostly".

Consider your ordinary Iraqi. Over twenty seven years, he learned how to fly under Saddam's radar. He rendered unto Caesar, and lived his life. He had "freedoms" under Saddam, they just never included POLITICAL freedom. Saddam kept order.

Now Saddam is gone. No matter who he is, some OTHER group of Iraqis probably would kill him, given the opportunity. He can't go anywhere or do anything without being in fear of his life. His country is in a shambles, he doesn't even have electricity or running water all the time.

Why SHOULD these guys thank us?
